By merging several seemingly incompatible worlds into a new universe, this series tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way. I try to involve the viewer in a way that is sometimes emotional. It requires you to step into this new world and experience what the characters are experiencing. This work directly responds to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences from my life as a starting point. Often these are framed instances that would go unnoticed in their original context. With a conceptual approach, the photos address many different social issues such as depression, pollution, and domestic violence. The work incorporates time as well as space – a fictional and experiential universe that only emerges bit by bit. The fixed identity of the characters becomes a focal point once noticed. The work has an atmosphere of omnipotence in such ways as seeing the craft-like appearance of the world, knowing that the characters were purposely placed in these situations, and the dramatic lighting. The work is characterised by the use of everyday objects, while unseen violence plays an important role.
